back to the famous mornings

of sitting around with tea and looking at art. It's nice to see art prints sold for as little as a DVD (you can get prints for as little as thirty bucks) Check out we*heart*prints , or Thumbtack Press . They have this print by Erik Swanson, and I'm not too crazy about his work, but this one has mountains! and a little house! ahhh.. i think it would be a wonderful christmas present for me, eh? and cheap cheap!

P.S. Why I love art:

Stolen art and the $100,000 dating service

Somehow, I found myself on the FBI website today. I must have been prepossessed by 'High Sierra' and Bogart into searching out criminal lovers or something. I was totally floored when I checked out the top ten most wanted because the descriptions read just like personal ads. For instance: "Donald Eugene Webb, who is considered a career criminal and master of assumed identities, specializes in the burglary of jewelry stores. He is reportedly allergic to penicillin, a lover of dogs, a flashy dresser and a big tipper." Or this guy, Bulger : "Bulger is an avid reader with an interest in history. He is known to frequent libraries and historic sites. Bulger ... maintains his physical fitness by walking on beaches and in parks..." And then there is the FBI Art Theft Program which has a wonderfully catchy acronym and a swell logo. (Apparently there was a Monet stolen in Poland in 2000.) And there is an Art Crime Team. Are they anything like the fashion police?
Screw all that... you want something good? Go to the FBI kid's page and put the secret agent in a disguise.

stiff apologies

Man, I've been so distracted with my speech, my artist statements, resumes...all of that garbage. It has taken me out of the studio and that is no good at all.
Actually, I think it is really stressing me out. I need to make a fantastic huge installation somewhere...christ. Someone give me some gallery space, or a corner of a public restroom or something. I've got my new watch, looking at a new camera (Nikon Coolpix 8400), new found objects. Next week it is do or die. I start the new installation and no more bullshitting around.

I wish I had never found that bum in the studios. I wouldn't be at all hesitant about going there at night. Now I am a little wary. God bless Detroit.

Sonofabitch.
